Heart Health! Stress Test Equipment & Treadmill - $28,847

At the Prairie Ridge Health Foundation, we are deeply committed to promoting heart health in our community. A key aspect of this initiative is the use of stress tests to assess how the heart functions during physical activity. During a stress test, the heart is made to work harder and faster through exercise, allowing medical professionals to detect any issues with blood flow within the heart. These tests are crucial in guiding treatment decisions, monitoring the effectiveness of heart treatments, diagnosing coronary artery disease or heart rhythm problems, and determining the severity of a heart condition.

This year, we’ve set a goal of fully funding new state-of-the-art Stress Test Equipment, including a new treadmill, which will help us save lives. With your support, we can continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our community members.

Audio Booth for Occupational Health

This year, we’d also like to fund an audio booth for the new occupational health space. Our occupational health team is dedicated to providing pre-employment screenings and physicals to local businesses, and the audio booth will be an essential tool in this process.

Specifically, it will be used to measure a baseline hearing assessment for employees, enabling their employers to ensure that they have adequate hearing protection while on the job. Currently, the occupational health nurses share an audio booth with the audiology department, which can lead to longer wait times for patients and businesses. A second audio booth will lessen wait times and allow employees to start their new jobs more quickly while ensuring they receive local, high-quality care.
